Being gentle through organic weed control in organic gardening

When it comes to weed controls and your garden, there are several decisions you must make. If you're operating a fully organic garden, you'll want to opt for organic weed control that is 100% natural and avoids any type of synthetics or chemicals. Even inorganic pesticides that are safe to eat can have harmful consequences on the ecosystem if they're allowed to run off. This can play havoc with organic gardening practices. Organic weed control is growing in popularity every year and some advocates of organic gardening believe that all pesticides – even some organic pesticides - conflict with the central principle of the hobby.

Organic weed control is a central part of your organic gardening plans

Aside from chemicals and sprays, row covers and other protective barriers can shield your crops from unwanted insects. Before applying any organic weed control measure in your organic garden, though, take a moment to watch just how these insects interact with your crops. Oftentimes they are not devouring your fruits or plants as you may think. Sometimes they are simply nibbling, and many plants can withstand that with little effort, particularly if you are encouraging an organic gardening philosophy.

If you're sure you have a predator, however, and plant collars and netting aren't doing the trick, invest in one of the aforementioned organic weed control sprays as another option. These natural additives work by interfering with some insects' digestion, but won't permanently harm or kill the organism itself. Many of these pest controls are available not just in dirt gardens but in organic gardening or soil-less gardens as well.
