Starting with organic seeds is one of a number of components of organic gardeningIf you are planting organic seeds as part of an organic gardening plan, there are a number of other aspects to consider. Planting organic seeds will be of no real benefit if you don’t plan the rest of your organic gardening properly. When you plant your organic seeds, you need to be sure you are planting them in naturally rich soil. This means you need to be sure you are using organic fertilizers and organic weed killer. These are all components of organic gardening. Organic seeds, fertilizers and plant food are not the only aspects of organic gardening.Planting organic seeds and using organic garden products are what most people consider organic gardening, but there are more abstract things to think about as well. One of the goals of using organic seeds and organic gardening is to sustain the natural environment of the vegetable garden. This includes helping heirloom and traditional varieties of vegetables to endure. Many of the newer hybrid varieties have been designed for longer shelf-life and better transportation, but in doing so they have lost some traditional qualities. By using organic seeds and organic gardening methods, these traditional varieties can be preserved. Organic processes also help to maintain the natural balance of the soil and environment, without possible contamination from chemical products. This does not mean you can’t use commercial products, it just means you need to be aware of what you’re using. Even companies like Scott’s fertilizer offer natural organic products for use in your vegetable garden. |
