How to Use Organic Pest Control and PesticidesIn the eco system there are no true pests. Everything has its place in the cycle. All critters are simply surviving the best way they know how. Sometimes, though, the eco-system becomes unbalanced, and as a garden owner you are forced to take action. Using organic pest control and organic pesticides are best way to re-dress the balance. Furthermore using organic pesticide and pest control is a safe alternative without harming the rest of your garden or indeed any animals or humans that interact with it. Embrace Organic Gardening in a Safe and Effective Way Using Organic Pesticide and Pest ControlMake your own organic fertilizer or organic compost by gathering leaves, grass clippings and other garden refuse, along with leftovers from the house including coffee grounds and eggshells. Create a compost pile in the corner of the garden and allow it to decompose for several weeks, even months if you have the luxury of time. Provide good nutrition to your soil by adding organic compost. Test your soil before composting for the first time, and test any time the garden has a chronic problem, such as tomato plant disease, you can't solve otherwise. Sometimes you may need to make other additions to the compost to help the soil along, including phosphorous. Nutrition for plant life is different to that required by soil. Soil and indeed lawns, require a compost addition after spring, at midseason and again in late summer. Remember to water soil and lawns regularly during a prolonged drought to keep the organic fertilizer active. Add organic compost to bulbs, perennials, houseplants and annuals in the springtime and fertilize shrubs and trees immediately after they bloom or as they begin to display new growth in the springtime. |
