Buying Organic Gardening SuppliesIf you want to turn your garden into an organic garden, you’ll need to buy organic gardening supplies. Normal gardening supplies may contain chemicals etc that will get your organic gardening experience off to a bad start. You can buy organic supplies at garden stores near you, through the mail, or even online. Grow your plants from seeds, which you can purchase through seed catalogs, to make sure that your garden is organic from seeding to harvest. If you control the environment completely, your garden is assured to be as organic as you make it. Garden supplies for organic gardeners doesn’t stop at the plants themselves. You can buy organic fertilizer and organic pesticides which will encourage your fruit and vegetables to grow stronger and without the usual garden bugs that can damage any garden. The downside of organic gardening is that these supplies often cost more than their chemically based alternatives. You have to decide which the greater priority is. For some, finance will factor greatly into the equation as they are growing their own vegetables and fruit in order to put food on the table instead of buying it at the store. They may not have the extra money required to ensure a chemical free crop – however, there are usually some old fashioned, pre-chemical techniques that can help make even the most budget stricken garden at least semi-organic. Introducing Organic Gardening to the Next GenerationIf you do gardening with children, get them interested in organic gardening. They are the future gardeners and need to be more environmentally aware than the current generation of gardeners. Show them which supplies are organic and how to tell them apart, teach them about organic composting and pest control. Get them involved with growing organic vegetables and let them see and taste the difference in the crop. |
