The Only Thing Easier Than Growing Herbs Indoors Is - Buying Them!Just because you don’t have a homestead with acres of farmland, doesn’t mean you can’t have a garden. Or at least a container garden. Plenty of city folk with a only a balcony, fire escape or even a windowsill have had the satisfaction of growing plants, flowers, vegetables—and especially herbs-- in containers, under these less than ideal conditions. Probably because of their fragile support systems, herbs prefer cozy surroundings rather than wide-open spaces. There Are Over 28 Legal Herbs You Can Grow Indoors-- And 1 Illegal That You Can’tFahgedaboutit! Don’t even go there. There are 28 nice and legal herbs we can talk about all you want. If you grew no other herb, it would be basil! Perhaps the easiest, and quickest to grow— basil grows from seed to your first serious crop in a month. And from there-- right in the kettle to flavor your homemade spaghetti sauce. In fact, next time you eat Italian out, take a good look at the planter in front or inside the restaurant. Betcha its basil! Really, the best way to choose what goes into your herb garden is to work backwards. Look up your favorite recipes; note what herbs go into them— and order from your seed catalogue. They’re all pretty hearty. And legal too! |
