The Web Is An Excellent Source Of Gardening Info And Gardening TipsOn cold, snowy February days we would huddle around the old oil stove in my grandparents’ home and pore over the seed companies catalogs. These catalogs were filled with colorful pictures of spring flowers and summer gardens. These catalogs were filled with gardening info and gardening tips. I still enjoy the spring nursery catalogs that arrive each year at the pitch of cabin fever season. But, there is a new source of gardening info and gardening tips that we enjoy equally well. That is the Internet. Top Horticulturists, Equipment Manufacturers, Distributors And Educators Offer Gardening Info And Gardening Tips On The InternetAll of the major nurseries and seed growers have websites. So do the gardening equipment manufacturers, the gardening supply companies and dozens of online garden accessories retailers. Most of these are excellent sources of gardening info. Some of the best gardening tips come from the various university websites. These sites provide great information from horticulturists, biologists and entomologists and others. The university websites also provide the results of the various studies conducted at the university. Perhaps the best source of online gardening info and gardening tips come from the gardening supply retailers. These sites provide information on the products they sell in such a way that it is easy to compare similar products. These online retail stores often post informational articles to draw visitors to their sites and to keep gardening enthusiasts returning. These retailer websites have a vested interest in providing good information. Just like brick and mortar retailers, they depend upon repeat business from loyal customers. On blustery winter days I remember fondly the wind rattling the windows in my grandparents’ home as we ate fresh-baked bread smeared with homemade strawberry jam and planned the summer garden. These days, however, I surf the gardening websites on my personal computer reading all of the latest gardening info that is regularly posted. I also check the message boards for gardening tips from fellow enthusiasts. The only thing I am missing is my grandmother’s fresh-baked bread and homemade strawberry jam. |
