Garden Tractor Tires - Maintenance and Repair

Whether you are using a tractor for planting a garden or for full-scale farming, you want to keep it maintained. Depending on the quality of your garden tractor and its degree of use on your property, you should not have to replace your garden tractor tires very often, if at all.

Gardeners especially may not exert as much wear and tear on their tractor. For small punctures you can apply a sealant to glue the hole, but for larger holes, you’ll want a new tire. (Sealants can be found at garden supply stores.)

However, if your tractor tires happen upon a large nail or piece of metal that causes a rupture, you will want to know where you can purchase them and what to look for. Or, you may want to upgrade your current tires or buy something more suitable for your terrain. Buying replacement tires is a great way to make do with an older tractor.

Customize Your Tires

The best way to start is to do an online search for your garden tractor model. This search will bring up available supplies, where you can find them, and different prices for tires. Online auction sites are likely to have plenty of tires available at good prices from people who no longer need their tractor equipment.

By browsing online, and then making some phone calls, you increase your chances of finding just the right tires for your tractor. Larger garden stores in your area may sell tractor tires. If not, they will certainly be able to recommend where you can go to find replacement tires for your tractor.

Lawn mower tires and tractor tires are similar and sometimes exactly alike, so you can also look anywhere that sells lawnmowers.
